CTE Teacher & Career and Technical Education Lead

Paul Schulz is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) instructor and CTE Lead at North Beach Jr./Sr. High School. He teaches Educational Leadership and Financial Math while supporting the development and expansion of career-focused programs across the district.

Before entering education, Mr. Schulz served in the United States Air Force as both an Air Traffic Controller and Command and Control Battle Management Operator. During his military career, he was responsible for coordinating complex operations, making critical decisions in high-pressure environments, and training and mentoring fellow service members. He also spent many years in the retail grocery industry, where he developed extensive experience in customer service, operations management, inventory control, marketing, team development, and business leadership. These experiences provide a strong foundation for his commitment to developing students' leadership, workplace readiness, and career skills.

Drawing from both military and industry experience, Mr. Schulz brings real-world knowledge into the classroom and emphasizes leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and workplace readiness. His Educational Leadership program provides students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, serve their school community, and explore careers in education, training, and public service.

As CTE Lead, Mr. Schulz has helped expand North Beach's Career and Technical Education offerings by developing programs in Culinary Arts, Commercial Art & Design, Publishing & Yearbook, Educational Leadership, and Marketing Operations. He works closely with teachers, industry partners, and community members to ensure students have access to meaningful hands-on learning experiences and industry-recognized credentials.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Schulz serves as the school's ASB Advisor, helping students develop leadership skills through student government, school activities, and community service projects. He believes that students learn best when they are actively engaged, challenged to grow, and given opportunities to lead.

His goal is to help every student discover their strengths, explore career interests, and develop the skills necessary to succeed in college, careers, military service, and life beyond high school.
