Mrs. Miriam Ransom

Hello Hyaks!

Being an educator since 1993 has given me a wide range of experiences that will promote student success.  I started out in 1993 as an emergency substitute 6th grade science teacher at Hunt Middle School in Tacoma, Washington.  I went on to earn my teacher's certificate from the University of Washington in 1996, afterwhich I continued to teach 8th grade science at Gray Middle School, and Gault Middle School. I also taught 6th grade science in the Kent School District, and Stilwell Middle School in Jacksonville, Florida.   From 2004 - 2011, I taught science at Lakes High School and earned my administrative degree from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.

I began my administrative experience as the Dean of Students at Moses Lake High School in 2011.  I continued as a Dean of Students/Activites Coordinator at Bremerton High School, Assistant Principal at Stevens Middle School in Port Angeles, Assistant Principal at Stevens Middle School in Othello, Assistant Principal at Hazel Wolf K-8 STEM School in Seattle,  Assistant Principal at Edmonds K-8 Online Academy in Edmonds, and I believe I have reached my final destination as the Principal at North Beach Junior/Senior High School!  Over the years, I have been dedicated to providing an environment that values academic excellence, character development, and a strong sense of community.  My goal is to create a school culture that promotes a love for learning, promotes inclusivity, and prepares the whole child for success!

I firmly believe that a successful school is built upon open communication, active involvement, and shared responsibility between parent/ guardians, teachers, staff members, and students.  With this in mind, I am committed to maintaining transparent and effective lines of communication.  I encourage you to reach out with any questions, suggestions, or concerns you may have throughout the school year.

Creating an environment where diversity is recognized and celebrated is another one of my goals, which will hopefully lead to all students feeling valued and respected.  Additionally, I am excited to explore new avenues for extracurricular activities, community partnerships, and initiatives that will enhance the overall educational experience at North Beach Junior/Senior High School.

Thank you for entrusting us with the education and well being of your children.  I am truly excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and look forward to a successful and rewarding school  year!
