Mr. Kevin Traer
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Sacramento, California and moved to the North Beach area ten years ago.
High School and College Experience
I unfortunately was a student who did not apply himself in high school, and because of the choices I made, my college career became a bit longer than some of my peers. I attended American River College in Sacramento, before I transferred to Sacramento State University where I acquired a degree in Environmental Sciences, and a minor in deaf studies. I’m currently a student at Seattle Pacific University where I am finishing up my masters in Science and Math.
Teaching Experience
This will be my 8th year at North Beach, and I couldn’t imagine teaching anywhere else. I love our community and the students that I am able to work with in the four short years they are here. My drive as an educator is to inspire young minds to hopefully help them solve some of the major scientific issues that we are struggling with today.
Areas of Knowledge
I currently teach 9th grade physical science, 10th grade biology, 11th grade chemistry, and 12th grade physics. I love learning, and constantly follow the advancements in science as they evolve.
How would you describe yourself and your hobbies and interests?
I’m a very outgoing and funny (I think so) person who loves to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy cooking and entertaining people in our home so that I have tons of memories to look back on as I get older.
I love to cook, camp, travel, listen to hip hop, spend time with my family, fish, and sometimes do absolutely nothing.
